I noticed a strange article about a coffee drive-thru business in the Kitsap Sun (wherever that is), which told a harrowing tale of innocent female baristas being harassed by customers. Straightforward enough, until you learn that the business is called Espresso Gone Wild, a name fashioned after the popular Girls Gone Wild series of videos where young girls disrobe in exchange seemingly priceless t-shirts (or simply to torture their parents).
At Espresso Gone Wild, the girls wear skimpy outfits as a gimmick in order to attract male gawkers.
Next, consider the alleged crime: the customer took a picture. This caused a 911 phone call.
So, you have a coffee shop with young girls showing flesh named after a well-known porn business to attract customers and everyone is surprised and upset when someone takes a picture. Am I missing something? What do you think that the customers are coming to see?
A barista called 911 Wednesday to report that she and a co-worker were being harassed by a customer at Espresso Gone Wild, where workers in revealing outfits serve the coffee drinks.
The 18- and 19-year-old baristas said a pickup truck carrying three men drove up and they ordered several drinks. All three were recognized as regulars at the coffee stand near the interchange of Highway 3 and Highway 16 in Gorst. The barista said that she saw a passenger in the front seat pull a digital camera out of the glove box while he waited for his order. She warned him that photos weren’t allowed, and that if he took any she’d call 911 and report harassment.
“I don’t care,” he said, and then took several pictures, according the a police report. The truck then drove off.
The women took down the license plate number and gave it to deputies, who are investigating.
I hate to remind this company of the laws in this country: if it happens in public, you can take a picture of it freely. This is not the case of a peeping Tom scaling a ladder to snap bedroom photos; if the girls are decent enough to be dressed this way in public, someone can take a picture of them.
I’m more of a supporter of women’s rights than the average guy, so don’t try to pull the “you can’t treat a woman differently because of what she wears” routine on me. This is clearly not the case — the business has clearly been designed as a spectacle in order to get attention and just like any other attraction, someone decided to take a picture to remember it by. Perhaps the 911 call was also solely to gain attention for the business.
There are other laws that Espresso Gone Wild should similarly be made aware of; specifically, those pertaining to trademark infringement. The only outcome that I’d like to see here is to have Joe Francis and his Girls Gone Wild group force a name change.

Kitsap County is on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington State and Gorst roughly an hour South west of Seattle. It is inbetween Port Orchard and Bremerton. I hope that helps.
As for the 911 call, it’s pathetic. I was wondering how long it would take for something like this to happen. There is another place just like it called “Natte Latte”. They have a website.
