The Orange County Register chronicles the story of our good friends Joe and Deepa of Kona Joe Coffee. It’s really a nicely done piece:

In Kealakekua-Kona, Joe Alban produced the world’s first trellised coffee on his plantation. A part-time resident of Orange County, Alban and his wife Deepa live on their 20-acre Kona coffee plantation in Hawaii. Joe devised a patented method of growing coffee trees using trellises and markets it under the trade-name Kona Joe’s.
