Bar None Coffee of Georgetown, Texas continues to build steam and gathers more attention with this recent local press article:

Ex-school worker opens coffee shop

Georgetown is now home to Bar None Coffee Shop, which is locally owned and is being billed as a “new generation of specialty coffee.”

Linda Silva, owner and former Georgetown school district employee, said the shop brought in a consultant from Hawaii to teach the brewing art and science.

“We grind, dose and tamp to our specifications,” Ms. Silva said. This is done with manual machines whereas most chain coffee shops use automatic machines Ms. Silva added.

The shop has two main brands of coffee, the Barn None brew and a guest coffee that changes periodically. They also make espresso to their own specifications along with several other varieties of cold and hot drinks.

“The community aspect helps the business,” Ms. Silva said.

The shop’s ability to identify with the local area helps with the business, too, she said.

Customer Giny Hauser said, “This has gone over really big . . . I’m elated that it is near Sun City and that they have a drive-through.”

It was also good to see the longtime resident Ms. Silva who has lived in Georgetown for 27 years, doing business in Georgeown, she said.

Although the shop is open for business, the grand opening will take place June 5.

Bar None Coffee is located at 105 Wildwood Drive in Cedar Breaks Village.
