Congratulations to Amber Sather of Brooklyn, NY and Katie Duris of Washington, DC, who both bested their competitors at the combined Northeast and Mid Atlantic Regional Barista Competitions this weekend in Pennsylvania.
The pair become the first two women to join the field of regional champions in the semifinals round of the United States Barista Championship in Portland this March 5-8. Two regional competitions remain, the Southeast regional on February 13-15 in Atlanta, GA and Great Lakes regional on February 20-22 in Chicago, IL (in conjunction with Chicago CoffeeFest).
Congratulations to the competitors for their efforts and dozens of judges, volunteers and sponsors for organizing a fine competition. We’ll look forward to more great action in Portland!
