Single Origin Roasters in Sydney, Australia have announced completion of upgrades to their coffee roastery in Botany that make them nearly-all (about 90%) solar powered.

I’m uncertain if this is first in Sydney or elsewhere in Australia for a coffee roastery but suspect that it will make our planned Q Grader course this October the first to be conducted in an all-solar powered lab, which is a pretty darn cool milestone.

These panels are currently generating enough power to offset our total Roast Works electricity usage between 7am and 2pm, which is when 90% of our operation is swinging.
